Monitoring and Evaluating Selling Techniques
A good company would know to keep specific records to monitor the volume/average and value products/sales on a weekly, monthly,quarterly and annually. This data can be tracked in many ways, it can be individuals logins by sales staff on a computer (cash registers) and track performances of each individual staff (to see if they are on schedule).
Selling of a good/service during sale/special store promotions can be calculated to evuluate whether their marketing strategies are successful, comparig sales of a product(s) to previous times (e.g. year) is effective, as changes are made when advertising. Sales can be compared by comparing to other stores, in which other retailers compete against each other (markets). Advertising can be allocated or increased sales in different stores/markets.
Surveys and focus groups are utilised to keep track and gather information, and how well the brand is running. E.g. Nike is a good example being a successful brand and is recognised by target markets. Surveys and focus group also track information about effective their sellling and marketing is. E.g. A telemarketer sells their goods if there is consumer is persuaded or manupilated to this method of selling.
